Failure analysis looks like 2 big end bolts may not have been torqued correctly and they came loose. Last service was 4 years ago though.

...It was a mess. When I took off the engine cover i found a big, wadded up ball of electrical tape (held together with zip ties!) where i expected to see a sensor harness.

Shoulda seen the glob of molasses that fell off of it when I pulled it out. Compressor discharge line was packed full at the compressor side.

2000 s10 4cyl if it matters to anyone. Dude had just bought it.

It was very labor intensive, my finger aches after the process....

Has a 200a inline fuse back behind the battery, which also was poorly secured. Replaced that and a 10a fuse for switch power, replaced the power wire, repaired the switch wires, secured everything all pretty, and she works!

Only the front windows roll down and only halfway, the window motors sound pretty heavy duty. Thing weighs over 12,000lbs

My S10 orifice tube looked exactly like that when the compressor ate itself.

Such a crappy truck but easy to fix :)

Those would certainly suffice when the standard and double set of small aftermarket lights ice over. Wonder if you parked in tight with a snowbank how far they would burn a hole through it.
